Welcome to Masks & Machetes Online! Please note that the game is still in BETA, if you run into any bugs please let us know at MasksAndMachetesOnline@gmail.com
The rules for the online version are quite different from the tabletop version of the game, as we wanted to create a unique, standalone experience that is fun for everyone – even if they don’t drink. We’ve done this by changing alot of the individual card rules, adding mini games, and overall adjusting aspects that we found to be more fun for a 1 Player experience.
🔥 GENERAL RULES 🔥
– Each player draws one card and places it face up.
– The player with the highest tier (number) wins the round, and their card is moved to the bottom of their deck. The losers card is moved to The Graveyard.
– Whoever runs out of cards first loses the game.
– If both players draw cards of the same tier, a dice roll will begin and the player who rolls highest wins. Winners card goes to the bottom of their deck, losing card to The Graveyard. If both players roll the same numbers the dice roll will continue until their is a winner.
🔥 ORACLE CARDS 🔥
– If you face an Oracle card, a mini “offering” game will begin where you will choose one item to offer the Oracle. If they accept your offering, you will gain 3 cards from your opponents deck. If they decline, you will lose 3 cards from your deck.
– If you draw an Oracle card, your opponent will have to give the oracle an offering. The same rules apply : if accepted, they will gain 3 cards, if not, you will gain 3 cards.
– Once an Oracle card has been drawn, it will be moved to the graveyard. Oracle cards trump all cards.
– If 2 players each draw an Oracle, an Oracle Battle will begin. Press the rune to decide your fate.. If you win you will gain +10 cards from your opponents deck, if not you will lose -10 cards. Both oracles to the graveyard.
🔥 CHAOS CARDS 🔥
– If a player draws the Summoning card, all cards in the graveyard are resurrected and redistributed to both players. The Summoning Card moves to the graveyard.
– If a player draws The Devil card, they will collect the their opponents card + 1 card from their deck. The Devil card goes to the graveyard.
– If a player draws the Succubus card, they will collect the their opponents card + 1 card from their deck. Succubus card goes to the graveyard.
– If a player draws The Ferryman card, they must collect all coins before the timer runs out. The game continues until the player beats the game. All cards including The Ferryman go to The Graveyard.
– If a player draws the Chamiliatic card, roll the dice to decide a winner. If the player who drew Chamiliatic wins, they will keep both cards. This includes chaos and oracle cards. If Chamiliatic loses, it will move to the graveyard and the opponent will keep their card.
– If a player faces the Medusa card, they will be turned to stone – and the round will come to a standstill! Medusa will first roll the die. To escape Medusa’s gaze, you must continue rolling the dice until you match or beat Medusa’s number. If Medusa’s number is 1, you will have to roll a 2 or higher. For every failed attempt, you will lose one card to The Graveyard. This will continue until you have escaped Medusas Gaze. Once the mini game is complete, the Medusa card will move to The Graveyard.
– If a player draws The Mysterious Stranger card, 3 cards are removed from the opponents deck to the graveyard. Both players cards active cards move to the graveyard after this round.
– If a The Devil Tree card is pulled, you must try to exceed the “Devil’s Number” which is calculated from your opponents next 4 cards (sum of their power values). You will roll the dice, with each roll value multiplying by 10 and and adding to your total score (Example, rolling a 6 = 60 points). This will continue until you beat The Devil Tree’s number. Each roll before beating the number costs 1 card from your deck (to the graveyard). Both original cards go to the graveyard after the round.
– If a player draws the Rince card, all players keep their cards and also take one card from The Graveyard. This is a helper card. Rince card moves to The Graveyard.
– If the Ritual card is drawn, the player will attempt to complete the Ritual by lighting candles around the circle. If the player wins, they will gain +5 cards from their opponent. If not, they will lose -5 cards to their opponent,
– If a player draws The Box card, they have fallen into The Box! To escape, roll a 2 or higher. If they roll under a 3, the player loses. If they successfully escape, they may continue playing, The Box card moves to the graveyard.
– If a player draws The Seer card : The player needs to guess the power value of the next card in their opponents deck. If the player guesses correctly: They win 5 cards from their opponents deck, as well as keep The Seer card. If the player guesses incorrectly: They lose and their opponent keeps their cards + collects The Seer card.
– If 2 players each draw a Chaos card, the round will be decided by a dice roll and the winners cards rules will be executed. If the dice roll is a draw, roll again and repeat until there is a winner. Losing cards to the graveyard.
